One of our favorite places is McAlpine Creek Greenway. It has many beautiful trails and ponds. No matter if it is Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall it is a truly lovely location.
How did he propose? Tell us all the details!
We were both in D.C. for Thanksgiving. My family lives near there and his extended family lives there. We were visiting D.C. for the day and had been to every major memorial and monument. He requested to go to the Jefferson Memorial (which is quite a ways away) to which I responded “It is way too cold.” but we went. We were sitting on the edge of the memorial looking at the water and both stood up to leave. He grabbed my hand and gave me a big hug and told me there was something he wanted to ask me. He got down on one knee and I said “yes!”

Question for the GROOM: What things do you love the most about her?
There are so many things that I love about Julia, it’s difficult to put into words. She is the most caring person that I have ever met. She always goes out of her way to help others. I believe that this is one of the main reasons she is an amazing teacher. Julia believes in a strong family unit, and that is exactly how I was raised. Growing up, I was always trying to figure out what I should do in life (what career I should pursue, what school I should go to, what city I should call home, etc.). For a while, it was difficult to figure out the answers to these questions. And then I met Julia. I have never been more confident in what I was put on the earth to do than I am now. That is because, of all the various things that I love about Julia (some that are hard to put into words), I know that the love we share is the strongest thing that I have ever felt in my life.
Question for the BRIDE: What things do you love the most about him?
I love Matt because he makes me feel like the most special person in the world. I never have to wonder what he is thinking. He tells me how much he loves me and how beautiful I am every single day. He is my best friend and the person I want to be around the most. I always admire how he is always pushing himself to the next level and always wants to better himself. He is an amazing person inside and out. I can’t wait to be his wife.
