Eric knew Becky’s favorite place was Lake Wylie so one weekend, Eric (with a proposal plan in place) suggested that they go to the lake together. Becky resisted at first, wanting to rest after her week of work travel, but when Saturday morning rolled around, she woke up raring to spend the weekend on the water.
While Eric secretly coordinated the proposal plan throughout the day, he and Becky spent (what Becky thought was) a relaxing day at the lake. They laid on the dock and went on a long walk before heading into town to get some lunch and a few drinks. Afterward, they headed home to watch the sunset on the dock.
Now it was time for Eric to put his plan in motion. While watching the sun begin to set, Eric asked if Becky needed another drink to which she obviously replied “Yes please, can you just grab me one?” Little did she know, Eric was trying to get her into proposal position so he quickly replied “Come on! We’re a team!”
Becky (still unaware of what was going on) gamely followed him up from the dock toward the house. He paused them by the edge of the water by telling Becky he wanted to practice some golf shots. Becky went to practice her putting skills (or lack thereof) and turned around to see Eric down on one knee. Becky fell to her knees and threw her arms around his neck. After the proposal and some canoodling, Becky turned around to see her sister, Eric’s two brothers, and his sister-in-law running towards them from their hiding spot in the house. They took a few pictures and then quickly gathered up their stuff and headed to Becky’s parent’s house to celebrate with family and friends.
