From the Groom:
“I am Greek Orthodox and Virginia is Lutheran. There are some similarities in regards to how both religions worship. However, the wedding ceremonies are very different. Virginia and I decided to do the Greek Orthodox service because of the ceremony and the extensive symbolism as it relates to how the Orthodox wedding is presented. I had two best-men but it was purely for the fact that parts of the ceremony required one of them to be baptized in the Greek Orthodox faith. Kostas filled that roll. My Persian friend Reza filled the other roll as best man. We echoed the theme of loving castles because we had our reception at the Club at Longview which looks like a castle. We liked the elegance of the venue. We had family come from all over including England and Canada. As a side note, our wedding was different from a traditional Greek wedding because we invited 150 people which is a tiny wedding as it relates Greeks.”
Any special compliments to any of your vendors?
“We would like to thank Erica Stawick our wedding planner. If she had not been guiding us through this process, I think both of us would have imploded especially with the responsibility of both our careers. We would also like to thank our photographer Critsey Rowe. She produced a wonderful portfolio of pictures for us. It was everything we wanted and more. The venue The Club at Longview was the most flexible and friendly venue we could ever have wished for. Brett the manager was very helpful and accommodating. Finally, Saint Nektario’s Greek Orthodox Church was the best place for our needs. Father Steve and his staff were helpful and made the ceremony go by with ease.”
