Today I am featuring one of Charlotte and the surrounding area’s most sought after floral designers – Carey Roberts.
One look at her work and two seconds chatting with her and you will be in love. She is so sweet and super talented.

Tell us about yourself and your company:

Carey Roberts Design Co., LLC was founded to meet the needs of brides, event planners and corporate clients who desired a non-traditional approach to floral design.

Carey and her team have combined their experience in floral design, event planning and marketing to form a unique by-appointment-only floral boutique, devoted solely to wedding and event design. Though traditionally serving the greater-Charlotte area, Carey and her team have traveled across the Carolinas to assist in making once-in-a-lifetime memories for Carolina brides.

From small family weddings to grand corporate events, our team will work closely with you to develop a look and feel that will leave a lasting impression on you and your guests for years to come.

What is one piece of advice that you like to give couples?
Choosing the right team of vendors to execute your vision for your wedding day is critical. Hiring a floral designer (planner, photographer, etc.) is so much more than price shopping. It’s about having a connection with the designer and feeling confident that they understand your style and vision and can meet or exceed your expectations. Your wedding day should not be spent micro managing vendors or worrying about what it will look like.

Where does your inspiration come from?
Inspiration is everywhere, but especially in nature and interior design. I love to browse magazines and shop everywhere from home interior stores to garden centers. I love that with today’s technology, it’s quick to snap a picture of something inspires you, saving it in the idea file for when it’s needed.

What message would you like to get out there?
Once you’ve chosen the best designer you can afford, let them do what you have hired them to do. Sure, we want to know what you like and don’t like, as well as what your vision for the day is, but you limit yourself and the design team when you come in knowing “exactly” what you want. Keep an open mind — This is not our first wedding :-).

What keeps you passionate about weddings?
Weddings are my creative outlet. It’s fun to be a part of something beautiful coming together. It’s even more exciting to see the expressions on the faces of our clients when they get the first glimpse of the bouquet. I love the feeling I get when I’ve seen a bride’s mother’s tears of joy when she walks into a reception set-up and the excitement in the client’s voice on Monday morning when they call to tell us again how wonderful everything was.

How would you describe your company’s style?
Fresh, innovative

How far in advance should clients book your services?
6-12 months

Outside of weddings what are your favorite things to do?
Gardening, spend time on the lake or at the coast, enjoy my family, home decorating/renovating
