Uptown Charlotte Proposal – Riley and Rachel

When Riley contacted me about capturing his and Rachel’s proposal he cracked me up by saying “I was referred by Madison Norris and Nich Bowles who are – this is kinda funny – my future mother-in-law’s, sorority sister’s, friend’s, cousin.” I photographed Madison and Nich’s beautiful wedding last year and love that they referred me!

Riley had planned on proposing for a few months on his and Rebecca’s ten year anniversary. They were high school sweethearts and have been inseparable ever since. Amidst the pandemic, he moved forward with his proposal plans and did not let these crazy times steal their joy of getting engaged.

Riley did some recon a few days before of the area we discussed could possibly be a great spot to pop the question. We both kept a check on the weather and set up everything to take place at 10:45am on a Sunday. I got there early just in case and hid in the bushes. I am sure the security guy across the street watching me thought I was a nut.

Riley texted me updates that they were almost to the proposal spot. I swear my heart was pounding out of my chest. I can only imagine how excited Riley was!

They arrived and Riley got straight to business and dropped to one knee and it seemed it all happened so fast! Rachel said YES! and now they are engaged with plans to be married in 2021.

Congratulations Riley and Rachel! Thanks for letting me be a part of your love story!
