Ah! I adore romantic engagement shoots! They really make my heart sing!
Lauren and Charlie are from Charlotte but live in Raleigh. They wanted to capture their engagement session photos in their hometown. They are the sweetest couple and I loved how they made each other laugh.
I always love a good proposal story and asked them how they got engaged. Here is their romantic story:
How did he propose? “Charlie surprised me this past labor day weekend! Every year Charlie and his guy friends go on a trip for their fantasy football draft and this year was in Nashville over labor day weekend. Some of the girlfriends/wives of those boys and I planned a girls weekend in Charlotte that same weekend. On saturday we had a huge girls day consisting of brunch, shopping, and watching movies. That night we had plans to go to a roof top bar in downtown charlotte. We got there around 6:30 and my best friend Cari approached the bartender who then gave her a note. She handed me the post-it and it said “L, please come to room 1168 -C” I immediately got excited but hadn’t gotten the hint yet. I thought Charlie got us a room for the night and filled it with snacks and wine for girls weekend! I grabbed Cari and said “you have to come with me!” and she quickly responded with “no you have to go alone!”. So I ran down the hall to the elevator and down another hall opened the room door and then saw Charlie. I was so surprised! I asked him “what are you doing here?!” and he then said that he had something for me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him! It was by far the most special moment on my whole life! Charlie and his brother Graham drove down from Nashville that day to surprise me! It was so special!”
